St. James' is a suburban seaside parish on the outskirts of Margate in Kent. The church was founded in 1872 and is blessed with a very attractive building that has an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness. Many visitors comment on the striking East window, which depicts the growth of the church from the day of Pentecost to the present world wide community of Christians.
There is a strong emphasis on Biblical preaching and teaching throughout the life of the church. There is a full range of youth activities for all ages, from tiny tots to teenagers, as well as uniformed organisations; Cubs & Beavers, attending the monthly family services.
As a church we seek in all that we do to be under the authority of the word of God, and our goal is to see men and women come to a personal knowledge of Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and then to grow to Christian maturity.

FRIENDS OF KENT CHURCHES SPONSORED BIKE RIDE & STRIDE!
Saturday September 11th - Members
of St. James who are planning to take part in this years ride; please contact Jose
Gibbs (224700) or Nigel Hadley (831067). The plan is for a cycling team to travel
to Whitstable on the train from Westgate-on-Sea to arrive just before 10.00am and
then cycle back to Margate via Herne Bay, Reculver and Birchington taking in as many
churches as we can! Full details nearer the time! Start cleaning up those bikes,
pump up the tyres and do some practice runs to avoid the ‘saddle soreness’! It’s
great fun - The MORE the merrier and don’t forget the sponsorship forms, soon available
in church. We really urgently need volunteers to ‘man the church’ on this day. It’s
far less gruelling than riding but just as vital! If you don’t want to ride then
please consider this and let us know as soon as possible - Nigel
